The third test of the hybrid PVC prototype was fairly successful except for an endurance problem with the nozzle. For this engine, the injector orifice was reduced and the NOX tank was enlarged.

  • Frame1 - Igniter start
  • Frame2 - Igniter hot flame, engine warm up, valve opener
  • Frame3 - NOX starts to pour out the nozzle and the combustion flame follows just behind
  • Frame4 - Engine full power
  • Frame5 - Nozzle failure, flame start to show on the sides of the nozzle body
  • Frame6 - End combustion, juncture of nozzle - combustion chamber starting to show born out.
